(All Federation meetings are held at the Packard Center at 4022 Hummer Road, Annandale unless otherwise announced)
Committee members represent Braddock, Dranesville, Mason, and Mt. Vernon Districts. Representatives from other districts are invited to join the Committee
Meetings
Meetings will be held every other month on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm at the Packard Center, i.e., November 13, January 8, March 11, and May 13.

Committee Activities Planned for 2007-2008
- Prepare resolution on FCPS 2007 Bond Referendum
- Review and develop testimony on FCPS FY09 Budget
- Participate in FCPS School Board’s Transportation Task Force
- Arrange for Superintendent to speak on his proposed FY09 Budget at the January membership meeting
- Provide verbal/written comments on the FCPS portion of the County’s Budget
- Review the education portion of the Federation’s legislative package
- Continue to monitor the implementation of Strategic Governance
- The balance of the 07-08 program will be set in October
Committee Accomplishments in 2006-2007
- Reviewed FCPS FY08 Budget and prepared/presented testimony on this budget
- Monitored implementation of Strategic Governance
- Reviewed and revised the education portion of the Federation’s legislative package
- Arranged for the FCPS Deputy Superintendent to speak at the January general meeting
- Provided verbal and written comments on the FCPS portion of the County’s budget
- Reviewed the language immersion and foreign language programs, especially the Foreign Language in Elementary Schools (FLES)
- Considered the possible sale of FCPS land to the Fairfax City, but noted no reason to testify on this issue.
- Review and develop testimony on FCPS FY08 Budget
- Provide Verbal and Written comment on the FCPS portion of County’s budget.

- Resolution in support of the 08 FCPS Bond Referendum Testimony in support of the initial consolidation of several FCPS administrative buildings
- Provided testimony in support of the initial consolidation of several administrative buildings.
- Testimony on FCPS Draft Approved Budget presented at May 14, 2008 FCSB Hearing
- Testified in support of the FCPS bond resolution
- Revised the education-related proposals in the Federation annual legislative package
- Provided input into the consultant’s review of FCPS school schedule changes and encouraged continuation of this transportation-related study
- Reviewed the Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) of FCPS schools
- Provided education-related comments on FCPS programs and funding to Federation’s testimony to the County’s BOS.
- Reviewed FCPS grants program
