Community Meeting w/ Dominion Energy on Plaza 500 Data Center

Please see below note from the President of the Bren Pointe HOA Board about an upcoming community meeting with Dominion Energy on the Plaza 500 Data Center.

Thank you for your support of public input surrounding data center decisions in Fairfax County. As part of that support, I hope that you will share the following information and flier with your communities about the upcoming Community Meeting that Dominion Energy is holding about the data center substation and transmission lines at the Plaza 500 site. 

 

Attend the April 9 Community Meeting with Dominion Energy at Bren Mar Park Elementary School, 6344 Beryl Rd., from 5:30-7:30pm (Share with Friends and Neighbors)

 

Despite the site plan for the data center still under review by the county, Dominion Energy is moving forward with plans for a massive electrical substation at Plaza 500 to power the proposed data center. This will be less than 100 feet from homes. Your presence and voice is needed at the April 9 Community Meeting to show Dominion Energy the community concern for this project.

 

Key Points for Meeting:

• A massive electrical substation less than 100 feet from homes with 100-150 ft tall transmission lines are inconsistent with the residential community and the County’s Comprehensive Plan.

• The proposed data center is a controversial project that has widespread opposition by the surrounding community, the Fairfax County Planning Commission, and the City of Alexandria.

• This project should not move forward while the county is reviewing data center and electrical substation ordinances with changes coming this year.
